The Varsity Girls home opener was played Wednesday on a beautiful sunny day. The fans were in store for a good game from the girls. Alexis McNeil  started her second game and pitched a solid game. The bats came alive and helped  the girls to a  12-10 victory .  Jasmine Johnson started the hitting with a stand up triple. Breanna Jordan, Ekaila  Edwards  and Ma'Lika Tolbert had timely hits. Taylor Gardner and Syani Williams  each made nice catches in the outfield.  Jasmine  Agnew started her first game in right field and played well.  Starting in her second game Janee  Rhone played solid defense at second base.  The catcher position  is a tough place to be on a 90 degree day  but Imani Goodal  goes out and does her job. She had never played catcher before this season and is becoming a solid player and one of the team leaders. Imani Goodall earned the game ball for her hard work and  leadership. The girls will be back in action on Friday at home against McLean at 4:30.
