Title of Lab (Be Creative)

Purpose:
Tell me what you are hoping to find or accomplish by performing this lab. Usually 2-5 sentences.

Materials:
Give me an itemized list of everything used in the experiment. No complete sentences necessary.
Example:
For Free Fall:

Materials:

Procedure:

Again, this may be done in list format, but complete sentences are required. Someone should be able to pick up this list and perform the experiment exactly as you did.

Results:
This is where all your data (acquired values) go. Any calculations or really anything you write down during the lab should go here. Attachments are acceptable, and often necessary. Graphs are good, particularly if you use a computer to make them. This is the focus of the lab, and should make up the bulk of your write-ups.

Conclusions:
This is where you write down your analysis of your results (what your results mean). Tell what it is you’ve learned (or concluded) about the experiment. Make sure to relate back to your purpose. Also, make sure to mention any possibilities for error. Don’t “overdue” the conclusion. Keep it short and concise.
