PLEASE REMEMBER: Each family is required to perform twenty-five (25) hours of volunteer service per year. If you are unable to fulfill this commitment, you will be charged $10 for each remaining hour.

Listed below are most of the activities for the 2009-2010 school year. Please check any activities which are of interest to you. The chairpersons of these committees will contact you with additional information.
Auction - Solicit, catalogue and photograph items for our on-line auction, to be held in February.
Beautification - Organize and/or participate in weeding, raking, planting, trimming, or other outdoor tasks on scheduled Beautification Days during the autumn and spring.
Black Tie Affair - Help with planning and execution of the formal dinner held on February 27th as a kick-off event for our Auction.
Book Fair - Assist with preparation and distribution of materials for book fair, to be held at Barnes and Noble in Bowie Town Center in early December.
Boxtops - Assist with collection and redemption of box tops and labels. The funds are then used to provide materials for the Library.
Cell Phone/Ink Cartridge Redemption - Assist with collection and packing cell phones and ink cartridges to be returned for rebates.
Communications - Assist with the QASPA website or preparation of printed flyers or mailings.
Drama - __set building/painting __costumes/sewing
Diversity Committee - Help with film night, activity planning, etc. This is a great way to get involved, and see what wonderful things QAS offers our kids!
Fall Fundraiser – Details under development - possibly a yard sale/bazaar or festival.
Family Day Cookout – Set up, food prep, grilling, serving food and/or clean up.
General Construction Projects – Bring your tools and assist with small fix-up projects around campus.
Giant/Safeway/Target Rewards - Solicit and maintain enrollment of families in these rebate programs.
Golf Tournament - Assist at the tournament, to be held in the Spring.
Office Volunteers – Answer phones, make copies, and prepare materials for distribution.
Parent Representatives (The QAS version of a Room Parent) - work with class advisors on grade level fundraisers and special events, and provide an additional line of communication between the school and parents. Great way to get to know other parents. Please indicate grade during the 2009-10 school year
Social/Hospitality - Provide refreshments, help to set up and/or cleanup for special school functions.
Sports Concessions – Donate time or food items for sale at QAS sporting events.
Teacher Appreciation – Provide a breakfast or lunch for faculty once during the month of your choosing.
Used Uniform Sale - Help collect, tag, and sell the uniforms at the sale, which will be held after the end of the school year.
Volunteer Committee Helpers – Make phone calls or send emails; schedule volunteers, assist with Volunteer Appreciation.
Warm Nights – Provide assistance as St. Barnabas Church and QAS provide dinner and breakfast for the homeless one weekend during Spring break.
Wreath sale and decorating - Coordinate wreath orders and/or help decorate the wreaths. All talent levels OK.
